In response to news of the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab facing a new set of evidence, the developers of the pioneering Russian vaccine Sputnik V suggested combining the two vaccines to dramatically improve AstraZeneca’s effectiveness.
The idea appeared on Thursday on the official Twitter page of the Sputnik V vaccine, funded by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
The current full-dose AstraZeneca regimen produced 62% efficacy. If they go for a new clinical trial, we suggest trying a combination regimen of the AZ shot with the #SputnikV human adenoviral vector shot to increase efficacy. The combination of vaccines can be important for revaccinations.
