CoinGate will start a trial of Litecoin Lightning Network, Decentraland has a new software development kit and Decenter wonders if the keyword "Ethereum" has been blacklisted by Google Ads.
Your daily distillation of crypts news for Friday, January 11, 2019:
CoinGate Eyes the Litecoin LN
Cryptocurrency payment gateway CoinGate will soon begin its trial of the Litecoin Lightning Network (LN), based on information shared with ETHNews. The first group to take part in this test will be the VPN company Surfshark, a longtime merchant on the gateway.
Veronika Mishura, CoinGate's marketing manager, said ETHNews that Surfshark is a good company to start with. "LN is definitely a solution for this type of products, especially bearing in mind that VPN, VPS and hosting are probably one of the most popular products for crypto-enthusiasts," he explained.
Subsequently, the process will be started for most CoinGate traders and, possibly, for all 4,500 of them. The trial period is scheduled for the end of February.
Litecoin LN recorded growth, exceeding 100 knots recently. Mishura said that CoinGate hopes to further strengthen the network with its process.
Last year, CoinGate launched a pilot program to accept LN bitcoin payments on over 100 merchants on the gateway.
New Year, New Decentraland SDK
The virtual reality platform based on Ethereum Decentraland is also releasing a new service. Decentraland announced its updated software development kit (SDK) on Wednesday, January 9th. Since the launch of the original SDK in April 2018 to allow people to create interactive content for the platform, the Decentraland team has received a lot of feedback from the community on how to improve the developer experience.
All this feedback has led to the new SDK, which presents an entity-component-system architecture (ECS). "An ECS is a well-known and proven game development model for writing high-performance code by default," explained Decentraland in his announcement. Ultimately, ECS architecture will allow the crew to "build tools for graphic development", which Decentraland supports "will improve the experience of creating content, making the Decentraland platform more accessible to everyone".
The new SDK boasts several other enhancements, including, but not limited to, life cycles of imperative-style entities (which lead to more intuitive code), the incorporation of game loops and object movements based on incremental changes. .
Decenter: "Ethereum" is no longer a keyword accepted on Google ads?
A group, however, is experiencing some sobs. The research and development organization of Ethereum Decenter has found that since January 9, its ads on Google Ads containing the keyword "Ethereum" have stopped showing up. Decenter received impressions until January 8, but traffic suddenly disappeared.
The team contacted Google chirping, but the answer has directed Decenter to Google's guidelines for cryptocurrency advertising, even if the ads in question mention the key sentences such as "Ethereum Security Checks" and "Ethereum Development Services", not terms related to cryptocurrency. Also, Decenter noted that keywords like "ICO", "bitcoin" and "EOS" did not seem to be on the black list, just the word "Ethereum".
Because of all this, the team is worried that Google could target Ethereum. However, some community members have responded to Decenter, saying that although Google may have political and economic programs, the blacklist "Ethereum" probably represents more a general prohibition to avoid cryptographers in general rather than a targeted action.
