The number of Corona virus victims increased on Monday evening in 4 Arab countries, after new deaths and infections were recorded, according to official statistics.
In Egypt, the Ministry of Health said in a statement that it had recorded 20 deaths from the virus and 248 cases, the highest daily death toll in the country.
He explained that Corona’s total death toll reached 4,782 injured, including 337 deaths and 1,236 healings.
In a related context, Amr Badr, a member of the Council of the Egyptian Journalists’ Union, announced, via Facebook, the death of the journalist Mahmoud Riad following his infection with Corona.
Badr said: “Riyadh is the first martyr of the Corona virus among journalists in Egypt”.
For its part, the Somali Ministry of Health announced, in a statement, the registration of 9 new deaths due to contagion with the epidemic.
With these cases, the total death toll from the virus in Somalia rises to 32, out of 436 infections, including 10 recovered, according to the ministry.
At the same level, the Algerian Ministry of Health recorded 7 deaths in Corona, which brought the toll to 432.
“In the last 24 hours, 7 deaths and 135 cases of the virus have been recorded,” Jamal Furar, spokesman for the ministry’s crisis cell, said at a press conference.
Vorar indicated that the total number of casualties has increased to 3,517.
He also pointed out that the number of people recovering from the virus has risen to 1,558, after 50 new treatments were registered.
In Jordan, the Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, said during a press conference that two cases of crown have been recorded, bringing the total to 449.
Jaber indicated that 5 new recoveries were reported, bringing the number of people healed to 345, while the death toll stopped at 7.
As of Monday afternoon, the number of people infected with the virus has exceeded 3 million worldwide, of which more than 208,000 have died, while more than 889,000 have recovered, according to the site “World Meter”, which specializes in monitoring victims of the virus.
