The company interested in purchasing the Come By Chance refinery seeks transparency as to why its offer was rejected.

News emerged yesterday that Silverpeak, the owner of North Atlantic Refinery Limited, found Origin International’s first offer unsatisfactory and rejected the interest.

Origin claims that its offer for NARL and its businesses was competitive and had the right financial backing. The company asked Silverpeak to publicly release the reasoning behind its decision, stating “It’s time for transparency and openness.”

This week, the company stressed that time is of the essence to mitigate the potential negative effects of letting the refinery go to cold shutdown.

While Origin is the first company to bring its interest to the public sphere, Energy Minister Andrew Parsons indicated that other parties have expressed interest.
