Coinbase wants to encourage the public to learn more about cryptocurrencies, paying them with crypts.
The exchange announced on Wednesday the launch of Coinbase Earn, a new system where Coinbase users can earn tokens 0x by completing various educational activities, including watching videos and taking quizzes. The platform is invited upon launch, although anyone can subscribe to a waiting list.
The educational content is freely accessible, regardless of whether or not a user is part of the Guadagna platform, according to a press release.
Coinbase launched Guadagna after examining both customers and non-customers and found that "one of the biggest obstacles for people to explore a new digital asset is the lack of knowledge about that resource."
"Many of the people we spoke to expressed a strong desire to start learning about new and different cryptographic resources beyond bitcoin, but we did not know where to start," the statement continued.
The exchange is positioning Guadagna as an alternative to mining or the purchase of cryptocurrencies for users interested in the acquisition of tokens.
The version explained:
"Cryptocurrency generally means high installation costs and technical knowledge, while the purchase of cryptocurrency requires disposable income for the exchange of cryptocurrencies, which limits access."
All users must acquire tokens through the Earn program is a smartphone or a laptop.
While the platform allows users to earn 0x at launch, Coinbase said it plans to add more content and support for other cryptocurrencies in the future.
