Just in time for the holidays – starting at $ 125 for groups of up to 20 guests – Canadians can rent a private auditorium and select a movie from more than 1,000 available titles.

Cineplex is also addressing the fallout from UK film exhibitor Cineworld Group PLC which on June 12 left a $ 2.8 billion deal to buy the company. The Canadian company has filed a lawsuit against its former suitor over the failed deal that it expects will begin court proceedings in September 2021.
Perhaps the most damaging thing was the closure of the theaters; in August, Cineplex recorded a 95% drop in revenue.
However, with the strictest cleaning and disinfection regulations in all open cinemas, Cineplex has hosted thousands of film screenings with no reported or confirmed COVID-19 broadcasts. According to the Global Cinema Federation, there have been no traced outbreaks in cinemas anywhere in the world.
Private movie nights are currently not available in locations where Cineplex cinemas are temporarily closed. A company representative confirmed that once the closed theater reopens, the option will become available.
