Three cities, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, have the most blockchain legislation and policies in China, according to a report by a Securities Daily publication.
The report analyzed the policies that were introduced over the course of a few years and determined that, in total, there are 32 policies linked to the blockchain. Furthermore, most of the projects are concentrated in the three cities mentioned above. As noted by the publication,
"Blockchain technology [aims] serving the real economy, focusing on the balance between innovation, regulation and security, and clarifying the bottom line of financial stability and information security ".
China has a divided policy concerning it blockchain technology. The president of the country, Xi Jiping has publicly announced that technology is a priority, while, at the same time, has not revoked the ban on cryptocurrencies.
Moreover, a month ago, a blockchain alliance was founded which includes 54 companies. The purpose of the alliance is to develop and promote blockchain.
At the same time, the Chinese government has censored information on cryptocurrency. For example, the Chinese state television channel has published a special on a book by Andreas Antonopoulos Master Bitcoin, but the title was hanged by the channel Blockchain: The Road to Digitalization of Assets.
The China & # 39; s People & # 39; s Bank of China has also warned against cryptocurrency, stating that it is "bubbles" in the realm of investment.
