Cameroon Separatists launch "AmbaCoin" to finance the Movement for Independence

Since the blockchain hype went into overdrive at the start of this year, you might have thought you'd already heard about any cryptocurrency use. Well, you did not do it. Now AmbaCoin is used to finance the independence of a nation, the Republic of Ambazonia.

Ambazonia?

You could be forgiven for never having heard of the Republic of Ambazonia. It all seems a bit like if Dorothy had snapped her sparkling red heels again and ended up in a faraway land. And this probably because the Republic of Ambazonia does not officially exist.

It is a piece of land in Central Africa formed by two provinces of Cameroon that the rebels fighting for freedom declared the independent state last year. And now they have launched AmbaCoin, a cryptocurrency, to finance it.

AmbaCoin takes its name from what Al Jazeera calls the so-called "Republic of Ambazonia". So-called because it has more legitimacy than a group of disgruntled minorities who take possession of a national park and who declare it a country. However, the English-speaking separatists insist that they will win their independence and use blockchain technology to do so.

AmbaCoin to finance freedom for the rebels of Cameroon

The rebels claim that AmbaCoin will not only help finance their independence and the creation of their nation, but will also help provide the much needed humanitarian aid in the northwest and southwest regions of Cameroon (otherwise known as the Republic of Ambazonia).

According to the AmbaCoin website:

AmbaCoin is a decentralized public blockchain and cryptocurrency for the New Nation Ambazonia. The ICO AMBA is a government bond contract supported by rich natural resources in the territory and a policy of repurchase by the Treasury, a post-independent ambassador supported by all the political parties in Ambazonia.

This is great news for investors who participate in AmbaCoin ICO. They can do it without fear of regulatory compliance because they have the full support of the authorities (of a country that does not exist). They may also feel quite confident about the repurchase clause once they reach the goal.

If you have not yet received the presale, there is still time for it to close today, December 27th. And if you've never invested in crypto before, do not worry:

Ambazonia Cameroon

The Republic of Ambazonia declared independence in 2017

In the event that the titles were not followed at that time, the Republic of Ambazonia was declared an independent nation in October 2017. The territory extends through two predominantly Francophone regions of Cameroon which, according to the rebels, are marginalized and discriminated minority English language.

The central government immediately launched a crackdown and deployed troops to fight the rebels, causing over 500 civilian deaths and nearly 500,000 people who had to flee their homes.

No solution has yet arrived for the Republic of Ambazonia, but it already has a flag, a president, a national anthem, and now it is a very personal cryptocurrency.
