Vitalik Buterin, the co-creator of Ethereum, has denied reports that he is moving away from the development of Ethereum.
On November 1, MIT Technology Review published an article titled "The founder of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin states that his creation can not succeed unless he takes a step back", according to which Ethereum can not succeed and get a real decentralization if it depends on Buterin to guide its development.
The report has led several critics to falsely suggest that Buterin will abstain from contributing to the development of the Ethereum blockchain.
In a statement, Buterin pointed out that he is not leaving Ethereum and is not reducing his focus on blockchain research. Rather, he explained that he will encourage the addition of the work of other developers in the open source developer community.
Buterin said:
"No, I'm saying that I'm continuing to focus on research but I'm less responsible than ever, it's about adding the work of other people, not the subtraction of mine."
What prompted Buterin to issue the declaration?
Recently, Péter Szilágyi, a blockchain developer, shared the Octoverse report that revealed that Ethereum Go is the fifth fastest growing open source project in the world together with Microsoft Azure, Wix, Spyder and Tensorflow.
