Blockchain the Technology is Overhyped, but not Bitcoin

If you are not very confident in global stability, you should be with Bitcoin for a long time, says technology magnate Geoff Lewis. He says that the technology blockchain is still somewhat overwritten, but at this point, he thinks that bitcoins are probably underestimated.

Geoff Lewis, the founder of Bedrock Capital and an early technology investor in many companies including Lyft, recently discussed the future of Bitcoin and more on CNBC:

Blockchain the Technology is Overhyped

With blockchain, you have to distinguish between blockchain technology and then the currencies themselves. Blockchain technology continues to be somewhat overwritten.

There are only a lot of scalability challenges to understand out there. On the currency side, I would say that at this time the last year was extraordinarily overwritten.

Bitcoins are probably relatively subdued

I remember that at that time last year I had an electrician at my house and was telling me how to become a Bitcoin millionaire. Bitcoin was around $ 20,000 and was a multimillion-dollar Bitcoin. At this point, I think bitcoins are probably underestimated.

If you think a year ago than today, I personally have less trust in global governments, less confidence in the fact that we will be in a long-term stable global future. If you're not very sure of global stability you should be long on Bitcoin.
