A new analysis of SSRN, the prevrint server and Elsevier's early research platform reveals that financial technology, or fintech, is the fastest growing area of research on the platform.

The data show that the topics related to blockchain and cryptocurrency are currently the most popular documents on SSRN. Bitcoin, blockchain, cryptocurrency and initial money supply (ICO) have received over half a million downloads of paper in the last two years.[1]
With more researchers than ever before looking for an emerging research on these new technologies, pre-presses related to fintech and initial research documents have received over 660,000 paper downloads over the last two years on SSRN.
