Now that it's a brand new year, many of us have learning goals on our 2019 resolutions lists. So we decided to break the new calendar by asking a variety of experts for their favorite blockchain resources, from books to podcasts to articles .

Blockchain books
Blockchain: Blueprint for a New Economy, by Melanie Swan
Recommended by Ed Featherston, an illustrious technologist at Cloud Technology Partners
This is the first of two books that Featherston suggests adding to your reading list. Neither book is new – Swan's first release in 2015 – but they remain relevant despite the rapid evolution of the blockchain: "Both books are a few years old, but business concepts and perspectives are still valid," says Featherston. He likes Blueprint because it is "much simpler" – a positive change when it comes to a topic overloaded with buzz and sky forecast at the top.
Blockchain Revolution: how the technology behind Bitcoin is changing money, work and the world, by Don Tapscott and Alex Tapscott

If you like the hype, here is the recommendation of Featherston's second book: Blockchain Revolution is created by a team of father and son, the Tapscotts, well known in the blockchain community for their evangelism. The book, says Featherston, is "very much in vogue, but must be read as all those who talk about blockchain know them and their opinions".

Bad Crypto Podcast, hosted by Joel Comm and Travis Wright

As the title suggests, this podcast goes heavily in cryptocurrency, but Tamar notes that it also showcases other blockchain projects. It is a good resource for understanding the relationship between cryptocurrencies and the underlying blockchain technology that powers them, in part so that IT leaders are better able to separate the hype from practical business use cases. Furthermore, Bad Crypto will feel less like homework: "[It’s] very fun and educational, "says Tamar.
