BlackBerry Limited has now developed a blockchain solution for the secure sharing of data between health care providers in order to improve patient outcomes.

The company is using its own network operations center (NOC) to feed a blockchain digital ledger that aims to create a secure global system for storing and sharing patient medical data, states a version. The blockchain is provided by Onebio, a peer-to-peer market for personal data.

BlackBerry, the long-time developer of smartphones and tablets, recently introduced BlackBerry Spark, an Enterprise of Things (EoT) platform, which aims to transform the global offer of healthcare data. John Chen, executive chairman and CEO of BlackBerry, said:

"We are applying our expertise in security, data privacy and communication work in regulated areas such as automotive, financial services and government to address one of the biggest challenges in the healthcare sector: harnessing health endpoints to improve patient outcomes by ensuring time security and data privacy. "

The new BlackBerry blockchain solution would allow data input from patients, laboratories and IoT biometric devices to remain tamper-proof and anonymous, so that data can be shared with researchers. The company is offering for the first time this secure distributed registry solution to the Global Commission, which works to end the diagnostic odyssey for children with a rare disease, the report added.

It is said that a Global Commission technology pilot will explore the new BlackBerry solution on how to provide real-time and actionable analysis to shorten the diagnosis time.

In addition, BlackBerry has launched the new QNX operating system for Medical 2.0. This operating system aims to develop robotic surgical instruments, patient monitoring systems, infusion pumps, blood analysis systems, etc. With the announcement comes the BlackBerry partnership with the Mackenzie Innovation Institute, which is exploring the BlackBerry Spark EoT platform for its healthcare technology. Richard TamThe CFO of the institute said:

"By developing a deeper understanding and exploring how our" smart "systems work with BlackBerry Spark, we aim to discover new ways to connect, protect and intuitively manage smart technologies in a hospital and have a positive impact on high quality patient care. ".
