Bitpay removed from the Google Play Store

In a decision that surprised the community, Google removed Bitpay delegation from the Play Store. Being one of the most popular portfolios in the BTC and BCH user community worldwide, it is quite strange that such situations occur without warning.

Until now, Bitpay has not stated that it is performing any kind of maintenance or upgrades to its infrastructure to justify this, so it is difficult to attribute to the company the fact that its app does not appear in the Play Store.

However, no statement has been issued by the Bitpay team explaining what has happened, leaving the community with the question not only of the reasons behind the issue, but also of how safe it is to keep the funds in this portfolio.

In a cached version of Google, it is clear that Bitpay has more than 100k downloads, with a high level of customer satisfaction averaging 4.5 stars. So far there are no reports of hacks or breaches of security, so the portfolio had a high number of users and a high level of trust in its customers.

Bitpay is also known to provide services that allow traders and companies that traditionally use legal currency to adopt cryptocurrencies. It has also offered a multitude of features that other portfolios do not have as the opportunity to purchase Amazon Giftcards, integration with Coinbase, an encrypted Visa card for the United States, integration with Glidera, acquisition of gift cards from Mercado Livre Brazil (a site that sells similar goods to eBay) and integration with Shapeshift.

Bitpay was not an isolated case

After the news, the Reddit community began to speculate about why the app could have been removed. In Bitcoin Cash users subreddit r / btc commented that not only Bitpay had disappeared, but also the Bitcoin.com and Copay wallets had been hit.

Despite the silence of Bitpay, Roger Ver said that Google removed Bitcoin.com because they could distribute cryptocurrency mining apps.

However, it is important to clarify that this portfolio has been postponed thereafter.

BCH Community: Bitpay was the victim of Bitcoin Core "Bitcoin Cash Conspiracy"

The fact that three portfolios that allow transactions in Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to be removed together, causing the use of many Bitcoin Cash users on a possible "conspiracy" of Bitcoin users (BTC) against Bitcoin Cash.

Reddit user gotamd said:

"WTF, you're right, this is obviously a coordinated attack on software and companies that support Bitcoin Cash."

Coinstage, on the other hand, wrote: [19659016] "They are not attacking Bitcoin-BTC, which explains that their Bitcoin-BCH is the last bastion of hope for global freedom, and if Bitcoin Cash fails, there is absolutely no hope for a free future for our grandchildren, and I fear that future generations will look back on this period of history as the time when we lost our freedom. "

Sure. Core [speaking about Bitcoin (BTC) ] wake brainwashing is instructed to downvote, report and write fake reviews. Dodgy bastards.

This is probably code debugging or some kind of exploit fix. Bitpay is still available on the rest of the platforms and the app still works on devices that have it installed.
