Hell’s Planet: Scientists have discovered the equivalent of Mustafar, the lava planet from Star Wars. Astrophysicists have discovered a “hell planet” – an exoplanet covered by oceans of lava and rain of rocks. Basically, it is Mustafar from Star Wars, the lava planet that Obi Wan Kenobi defeated Anakin Skywalker, who became Darth Vader. Designated “K2-141b” and located 200 light-years away, this is one of the most “extreme” exoplanets scientists have discovered.
Lava planets owe their extreme conditions due to the proximity of their current orbit to the star around which they gravitate. Details of K2-141b were published in the Royal Astronomical Society’s monthly notices. Scientists from McGill University, York University and the Indian Institute of Science Education have used computer simulations to predict the weather and environment on K2-141b. In addition to extreme temperatures, the planet is battered by supersonic winds and has an ocean of magma with a depth of about 100 km, IGN writes.

Clive Barker joins HBO’s Hellraiser as an executive producer. The Hellraiser TV series, announced by HBO earlier this year, will see David Gordon Green (Halloween Kills) on board to direct the pilot episode and several early release episodes. Now, it has been announced that the master of the horror genre, Clive Barker, who wrote the original story and directed the first Hellraiser film, has joined the HBO series as an executive producer. The new HBO series will be the first time Barker has been involved in a Hellraiser adaptation of Bloodline (1996).
According to Deadline, who first announced the news, Barker said he was “delighted that the Hellraiser mythology sees a new life”. It is time for the stories to go back to their roots. Netflix has stopped filming “The Witcher” following several positive COVID tests. UK filming of The Witcher season two was halted after four positive cases of coronavirus were detected among the production team on Saturday. According to Deadline, the infected have entered into self-isolation and are not among the main actors. Filming at Arborfield Studios in west London will resume once Netflix is confident the set is completely safe.
This is the second time that filming for the second season of the series has stopped after actor Kristofer Hivju (Nivellen) announced in March that he tested positive for COVID-19. The hiatus lasted until mid-August after Britain entered the bloc. Netflix’s fantasy epic is one of streamer’s biggest hits, with the first season of the series seen by 76 million families, according to Deadline.
