The computer world was governed mainly by men. Female representation, however tiny it was there, but it is much less than that of the opposite gender. Blockchain technology, the emerging field, has been around for almost a decade. With this in mind, the number of females in the indicated field is very low. Women only compensate 10% of IT graduates in the United States. This is due to the fact that there are significantly fewer opportunities for women in the field of blockchain and IT as a whole, and women are generally less motivated to participate.

Many organizations have taken steps to solve this dilemma. Now there are a number of platforms that have been designed to meet this unjust distribution of opportunities between the sexes. One of these is Blockchain Learning Group, an organization that seeks to educate the younger generation on the blockchain and its applications by incorporating various workshops in schools. This is to ensure that young people are informed about the various cases of use of blockchain technology and to help nurture the interests that could develop in the aforementioned technology. These high school students are trained in the same way that senior managers and engineers have no field experience. School students are given a basic understanding of technology that also includes programming skills and concepts so they can start developing their own apps.
Their program does not consist only of extensive laboratories, but has also hosted a series of hackathons in which students can present the applications they have developed. A wide range of applications have been developed that tend to many of the cases of use. BLG is trying to expand the system by incorporating more schools into this network, but for now they are active in Canada and Australia. Most of the schools that have been recruited are secondary schools for all girls.
Thanks to this initiative, a group of students from an Australian school managed to get a prize by designing a piece on the blockchain ethereum at the Smart City Hackathon held in Melbourne. BLG not only allows the student to learn the blockchain and its myriad of applications, but also to the teachers, introducing the lot to different designers and engineers who are experts in the field. The training program essentially allows students to successfully develop a working application. One of the participants who had an extraordinary learning experience said,
Thanks to the engaging practical experience Blockchain Learning Group has provided me, I am now able to build my decentralized applications with confidence and quietly program the Solidity smart contracts. The workshops were extremely useful and only made me more enthusiastic about the Blockchain technology and its potential.
Blockchain Learning Group is not the only organization that seeks to fill the gaps in this arena, there are many other organizations that strive to create equal opportunities for men and women in the blockchain field.
