Four colleagues from the healthcare industry are sharing a $ 6 million lottery win and are also making a donation to a local hospital foundation.
Melanie Nolan was sitting at her desk last week when she suddenly heard a noise from her colleague.
“I heard ‘whoo hoo’,” he said.
Well, there was a good reason for the noise. It’s because colleague Theresa (Heewon) Choi checked out the BCLC app and found out she just won the Lotto 6/49 prize on October 31st.
Now all they had to do was wait for the other two colleagues they bought tickets with every two weeks to show up for work.
“I was shocked too,” Theresa said. “It was a dream for me.”
“I thought it was $ 6,000 when he showed it to me,” Nolan said.

When the other two showed up, they shared the good news that the four of them would share the $ 6 million prize from a ticket bought in New Westminster near their work.
Choi and Nolan shared the story on Monday during a virtual BCLC event. The other two winners were not present and had not been named.
The four work together in the health care field, and Nolan said 2020 has been tough for all of them, which is part of the reason they decided to participate in the lottery tickets together.
“We wanted to do something positive,” Nolan said. “Right now, that’s a lot to work out.
The two who spoke to the media said they bought the ticket on October 30, but didn’t check until November 2. They are not sure what the money will be spent on, but Nolan said he wants to make a donation to the hospital foundation linked to his work.
