After BC responded to its new political signage about masks called “catchy” on social media, the images gained international attention, after being featured on a late-night talk show.
The signs are intended to encourage all ferry passengers to disguise themselves while on board, in accordance with the company’s mandatory mask policy.

A spokesperson for BC Ferries told the Daily Hive that he had seen the social media posts and that “some people have a certain imagination”.
However, as the old saying goes, any advertising is good advertising, and the spokesperson noted that however the signs are interpreted, “the conversation has raised awareness of our mandatory policy on face masks … which we consider positive.”
