Austria has just founded a blockchain center, it is expected to make it one of the most innovative countries in Europe.
The center of development and promotion of the skills of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), the COMET Centers have just announced the creation of their blockchain center.
The Austrian Blockchain Center (ABC) will involve 21 scientific institutions, 54 companies, 17 associate participants, including 16 international institutions / companies to conduct a comprehensive research focused on blockchain technology and its use.
In more detail, the research topics are grouped into five areas; are Cryptography, Technology & Security, Cryptoeconomic Modeling & Blockchain Applications for Business, Emerging Industries and Blockchains in Manufacturing, Data Science Methods for Blockchain Analytics and Predictions, and finally Legal Implications and Policies.
The official announcement mentioned an example of the expected result of the research, which is the improvement of customer identification and the relative compliance of banks and insurance companies.
Moreover, with the development of ABC, the Austrian government expects to be one of the most innovative countries in Europe, strengthening the implementation of blockchain-based applications and business models, which would be the key to creation of new jobs.
