Armenian President Armen Sarkasyan said the Arab world is an ally of Armenia in its conflict with Azerbaijan, commenting: “I hope the whole world will be our ally, but we don’t want this war to be a war of allies.”

Sarkisan added, in a zoom intervention for the “Public Opinion” program, presented Thursday evening by journalist Amr Abdel Hamid on channel “ten”, that Armenia does not want the conflict to expand into the Karabakh region, asking Turkey to get out of the conflict.

He continued: “We have not placed our successors in Karabakh like Azerbaijan did with Turkey. I want to solve the crisis and we don’t want it to become like Syria, because if it turns into a Syrian crisis, it will eat everyone.”

And he added: “Anyone who wants to fuel the conflict in Karabakh must be stopped, because we may not be able to control it,” noting that what Russian President Putin said confirms that there are military agreements for Russia with Armenia.

In recent days, armed clashes erupted on the line of contact between Azerbaijani and Armenian forces, and Azerbaijan said the Armenian armed forces fired on residential areas on the contact line in the unrecognized republic of Karabakh, and the bombing resulted in the death of civilians.

For their part, the authorities of Armenia and the Republic of Karabakh accused the Azerbaijani side of launching air and missile attacks on the region, and the Armenian authorities announced general mobilization in the country, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmed that his government would discuss the question of recognizing the independence of the Republic of Karabakh.
