The Executive Council of the Arab Tourism Organization held its third session via zoom technology, led by Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, President of the Executive Council of the Arab Tourism Organization, in the presence of the members of the Executive Council.
Al-Zayani appreciated the organization’s great efforts in supporting and empowering Arab tourism and improving its role in various fields, explaining that the organization has moved on to high levels of professional performance as it has presented pioneering projects that have promoted the Arab joint action and removed all obstacles that tourism in the Arab world could face, in addition to its fundamental role. What is important in coordinating Arab efforts internationally.
Al-Zayani praised the efforts made by the organization to address the repercussions of the Corona Covid 19 pandemic in support of the tourism sector by launching an electronic training platform to prepare workers in the tourism sector after the pandemic.
He stressed that what we saw today in this meeting in terms of the reports, analyzes, recommendations, visions and initiatives presented by the organization reflects the volume of work it does and the clear vision it pursues. Live up to your expectations.
For his part, Dr Bandar bin Fahd Al Fahid, president of the Arab Tourism Organization, explained that the meeting discussed the agenda that includes the follow-up of the implementation of the recommendations of the crisis management team within the framework organization, which was set up to address the fallout from the Corona pandemic, as it has published many urgent, medium- and long-term studies and recommendations.
Al Fahid indicated that the organization has published a report on the economic packages presented by Arab governments to their countries to deal with the pandemic, estimated at around 190 billion dollars, indicating the unanimous approval of the Council to grant Tunisia the title of capital of the Arab towns for the year 2021 AD
The loss of the total contribution of tourism and travel to the global gross product is expected to reach approximately $ 5.5 trillion, which represents a decrease of 62.3% compared to 2019.As for the estimates of losses in the Arab world, it is expected that will reach $ 194 billion in 2020 compared to 2019. The total contribution of tourism and travel to the total production of the Arab world is projected to reach approximately $ 72 billion, a decrease of 72.9% compared to 2019.
As for the global loss of the employment sector, it could reach 197.5 million jobs in the world, and for the Arab world, the losses in the employment sector are expected to reach around 7.5 million jobs , equal to 48%.
