January 10thth, the Independent Malta and Malta Today reported an investment scheme called "Bitcoin Revolution". According to reports, two guests from the local TV series and an actor would have been involved in this situation. However, the three individuals have since come forward and denied involvement.
The original false approval was listed on Major News, showing Wayne Sammut and Elaine Degiorgio, the hosts of One Breakfast. Together with the hosts, Major News falsely claimed to have had Davide Tucci as a guest in their show.
The report went even further, saying that the Maltese TV actor had used his time on air to successfully convince Degiorgio to deposit € 250 Bitcoin Revolution. They suggested that Tucci had been able to get out of bankruptcy. Major News reported that the investment from Degiorgio has increased to € 483.18 "within three minutes" on the "show".

Tucci wasted no time answering, offering a video message on his official Facebook profile. He stated categorically that he had never been involved in any activities involving Bitcoin or cryptocurrency as a whole, stating that the reports that had suggested it were nothing but a scam.
He stated: "This is clearly a scam and a" come out "per click, please do not buy into this."
To promote his request against fraud, Tucci reported this situation to the Maltese cybercrime unit.
The owners of One Breakfast have spoken with the Malta Independent, saying that Tucci has never been a guest. Furthermore, they denied ever investing in their show by informing the police.
The Newsbook, another local news agency, requested information from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) to declare whether the bitcoin revolution was actually legal. In response, the authority found that there was no authorization from the government for an operation under this name. Furthermore, the MFSA decided to conduct an investigation into the subject.
