For the first time, Aldi Talk is offering not just one annual package, but three packages with different conditions. All packages are valid for 365 days after activation and offer you an unlimited number of calls and SMS to all German networks, as well as a flat rate for the Internet in the O2 LTE network. The data volume is 12, 40 or 100 gigabytes, depending on the package. However, this applies to the whole year.
The maximum possible speed is 21.6 Mbit / s in download and 8.6 Mbit / s in upload. It’s not an extremely large amount, but it’s enough for a full HD streaming on YouTube, Netflix and Co. without any problems.
If the included data volume is exhausted, you have to get by with a low bandwidth of 56 Kbit / s for the rest of the year (!). With this you can still send text messages on WhatsApp and Co. However, this is not enough for streaming, including music. However, it is possible to book additional volumes of data for a fee.
If you have enough prepaid credit, Aldi Talk’s annual packages are automatically extended for an additional 365 days. This automatic renewal can be canceled at any time via the app or the hotline.
Who is the Aldi Talk annual package for?
When comparing Aldi Talk annual packages to Aldi Talk’s regular rates, you should keep in mind that the provider is charged every 4 weeks, as is the case with almost all prepaid rates. This means that you pay the basic fee 13 times a year instead of 12 times.
The great advantage of the annual package is that you can split the included volume more freely. For example, you can use WiFi at home and at work and save data volume. This way you will have a significantly higher volume of data available on holiday. Furthermore, Aldi Talk annual packages are more suitable as a gift than a normal rate, as they are paid in advance and are only valid for one year from activation.
The downside to an annual package is that you have to manage your data volume well. Once you forget to connect to WiFi and a few videos later, you will not only have run out of volume for this month, but for the whole year. However, the data warning on your smartphone will help you here. This can inform you when a certain amount of data volume has been used.
These Aldi Talk annual packages are available
The XS annual package offers 12 gigabytes of data for a price of 58.19 euros. This equates to € 4.48 for 4 weeks and a data volume of 0.92 gigabytes for this period. This makes the package suitable for anyone who doesn’t use their smartphone for streaming. If you only send messages sparingly and recall information, you will be fine with this package. Moreover, thanks to the flat rate, you can make unlimited calls all year round.
The S annual package offers 40 gigabytes of data volume at an annual price of € 96.99. This corresponds to around 3 gigabytes for € 7.46 in four weeks. This means the annual S package is slightly cheaper than the regular S package, which gives you 3 gigabytes for $ 7.99. With this volume of data you can easily play lyrics and music.
The annual package L gives you 100 gigabytes for 144 euros. This corresponds to approximately 7.7 gigabytes for 4 weeks for the price of 11.08 euros. This package is considerably cheaper than the comparable “normal” L package, which offers 7 gigabytes for € 17.99. With sufficient data volume, this tariff is also suitable for streaming movies.

As a special offer, Aldi Talk’s XS annual package is also available alongside a Galaxy A20s. This package costs 179 euros. Compared to individual purchases, the range is good, but the Galaxy A20s has been around for over a year and there are now significantly better smartphones for the same price.
All four packages will be available from November 19th through the end of the year.

Aldi Talk is not the only provider that sells annual packages. Edeka, for example, has a similar offer with its mobile phone discount store. With this you get a new volume of data every month, but you only have a limited number of free minutes available.
