Ahmed Zaki was born in Zagazig on November 18, 1949, graduated from the Zagazig Industrial School in 1967, then went to Cairo to study film and graduated from the Cairo Institute of Dramatic Art in 1974.

His journey to stardom began when he starred in the comedy “Children of Kabir” in 1978, then moved on to television acting, playing the role of the dean of Arabic literature, Taha Hussein, in the Al-Ayyam series.

His first film was “Sons of Silence” in 1974. By 1980 he had represented six films, including “Alexandria Why?” It is directed by the brilliant director Youssef Chahine and Ahmed’s films are rated in more than 60 films over the course of his life.
