The number of new infections with the novel Coronavirus has again increased in some Arab countries after a relative decline in recent months amid fears of an outbreak of a second wave of the virus that could be more dangerous than the first.

Morocco, west, sunset
The Kingdom of Morocco has seen a rise in the number of HIV infections in recent weeks, setting a record yesterday, Sunday, of 2,234 cases of the virus, 42 percent of which occurred in Casablanca.
The Kingdom of Morocco has adopted a package of preventive measures against the emerging coronavirus for a period of two weeks.
In an attempt to contain the spread of the virus, the government has decided to close the ports of the capital, subjecting the movements to and from them to an exceptional license granted by the authorities.
The Moroccan government has also decided to close all educational institutions and to adopt distance education as an alternative system.
The measures also included the closure of markets, shops, restaurants and markets at night and a ban on night traffic from ten in the evening to five in the morning.
Tunisia
Tunisia recorded 265 new cases of the virus, bringing the total, as of Monday, to 5,041 people.
The Tunisian Ministry of Health says that since the opening of the country’s borders on June 27, it has recorded 3,840 cases of the virus, of which 580 imported.
Egypt
In Egypt, on Sunday, the Ministry of Health recorded 19 new deaths from Coronavirus infection, as well as 151 infections.
According to official statistics, the Corona virus has killed around 5,530 people in Egypt, while 99,863 have been infected since Sunday.
Jordan
In Jordan, authorities recently decided to force private sector workers to use the “AMAN” app, after forcing their public sector counterparts to use the app on 11 August.
Authorities say the app helps limit the spread of the virus by tracking the movements of its users.
Yesterday, Sunday, the Hashemite Kingdom registered 58 new cases of Corona, bringing the total number of injured to 2,411.
Legislative elections in the Kingdom are scheduled to take place on 10 November.
Palestine
In the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Health recorded three deaths and 789 new cases of coronavirus today, Monday.
This brings the total number of deaths in the West Bank and Gaza to 205 cases, while the total number of injured reached 34,801.
The World Health Organization has said that increasing the Corona infection curve in Gaza requires a change in the policies used to fight the virus.
The Gaza Strip has been in a state of emergency and curfew for fourteen days, as part of the measures taken by local authorities in an attempt to stop the virus.
In a related development, the Supreme Islamic Authority in Jerusalem has warned against Israel taking advantage of the Crown crisis and closing the Al-Aqsa mosque.
The head of the authority and preacher of the mosque, Ikrimah Sabri, called on the faithful to adhere to preventive measures to prevent the spread of the virus during prayers in the mosque.
And Israeli media reported that they had postponed a session scheduled for Sunday to discuss the closure of the Al-Aqsa mosque as a preventative measure to limit the spread of the virus.

The number of people infected with the coronavirus worldwide has surpassed 27 million, according to statistics published by Johns Hopkins University of America.
According to statistics from the World Health Organization Regional Office in the Eastern Mediterranean, the number of cumulative confirmed cases of the virus in the region, which includes the Arab countries, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran, has exceeded 2.1 million cases. of which 53,082 people have died as of Monday.
The World Health Organization said it does not expect an effective vaccine to be widely available before mid-2021.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said 78 countries pledged last April to work to accelerate the development of drugs to treat Corona virus and distribute them fairly.
