A new COVID-19 case in the Thunder Bay area

This is the 141st case in the Thunder Bay district.

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting a new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay area.

This is the 24th COVID case reported by TBDHU in the past six days.

Following his practice, the health unit released only a short announcement Wednesday afternoon listing the exposure category as close contact, meaning the individual contracted the virus from someone who already had it.

He said the person is currently self-isolated.

This is the 141st COVID-19 case in the Thunder Bay district.

TBDHU defines the Thunder Bay area as the city and townships that immediately surround it.

More than 80% of the cases in the district have occurred in this area, with the remainder occurring in the First Nations within the district or in municipalities further away from Thunder Bay.
