News (Nouakchott) – The Union of writers and writers of Mauritania has decided to organize the twelfth edition of the Mauritanian Literature Festival from the 28th to the 30th of this month and to host a number of poets and writers from different Arab countries.
The new version of the festival takes its name from its late president Kabir Hashim, with the slogan "Culture and Literature, Soft Diplomacy", in recognition of the role of creativity in rapprochement between peoples and the distinctive cultural role of Mauritania in this field.

He added that the festival will know the organization of two main seminars the first on the poet Kabir Hashim his place in the literature of Mauritania and the second on the role of literature in the rapprochement between the Arab peoples
Ould El-Amjad said that the most important guests who participated in the festival were Nouakchott, which was confirmed at the ceremony by the great Egyptian poet Ahmed Bakhit and the president of the Union of Algerian writers Youssef Shakra, who runs a 39, an important literary delegation from his country.
