The richer Bitcoin addresses are owned by the cryptocurrency trade. Collectively, these addresses contain less than 3.5 percent of all bitcoins.
The richer Bitcoin addresses contain $ 3.1 billion
Not surprisingly, the first 5 richer bitcoin addresses belong to the cryptocurrency trade. All have a total of 592.943 BTC, which is currently worth around $ 3,150 billion. This represents approximately 3.5% of the full amount of BTC.
- Binance
Binance is the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by traded volumes and its cold portfolio currently holds 141,096 BTC worth $ 749,654,668. This is 0.8117 percent of all BTCs and is the richest address so far.
- Bitfinex
Bitfinex's cold wallet is the second richest BTC address. It currently holds 138,661 BTCs worth $ 736,714,464 or 0.7977 percent of all BTCs.
- Huobi
The third place is occupied by the exchange of cryptocurrencies based in Singapore, Huobi. It has 108.135 BTC in its portfolio which currently are worth $ 574.526.670. This is 0.622 percent of the entire BTC.
- Bittrex
Bittrex's cold wallet is the fourth richest BTC address and contains 107,203 BTC. This is worth $ 569,577,142 or 0.6167% of all BTCs.
- Bitstamp
Bitstamp holds 97,848 BTCs in its cold portfolio, making it the fifth richest BTC address. Their dollar value is $ 519.974.509. It represents 0.5629 percent of all BTC.
Other rich individuals
While it is quite natural that the portfolios of the cryptocurrency trade are the richest addresses, there are some investors who are presumably particularly loaded with BTC 00 also.
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, for example, bought BTC for $ 11 million in 2013 and are also owners of the Gemini trading platform.
Other wealthy BTC owners include Tim Draper, who bought 30,000 BTC from a US Marshal auction, Barry Silbert, Roger Ver, Charlie Shrem and others.
It is also worth noting that BTC's general BTC property has changed over the years. At one point, the US government was in possession of over 144,000 BTC seized in the famous Silk Road case.
