An earthquake hit the coast of the Turkish state of Antalya and its consequences have been felt by residents of Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.

According to the Jordanian daily Al-Rai, the Turkish Foundation for Disasters and Emergencies “AFAD” said that a 5.2 magnitude earthquake hit the Turkish coast, off the southern province of Antalya.

And the “Ammon” news agency reported that the earthquake was felt by residents of Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt and Cyprus.

Dr Gad El-Kady, president of the National Institute for Astronomical Research in Egypt, said an earthquake occurred in the Mediterranean region shortly before.

Al-Qadi explained to the Echo of the Country website that the force of the earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 80 kilometers, was felt by residents of Cairo and coastal governorates and was not found casualties or loss of homes.
