A store in Vancouver now has three recently confirmed COVID-19 cases of test positive employees.
Workers at major food chains operating in Metro Vancouver have tested positive for the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
New confirmed cases of the virus have been announced for people working in Vancouver, Coquitlam and Surrey stores.
Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of Real Canadian Superstore, provided an update to its COVID-19 employee case lists on December 2.
The stores concerned are the following:
- Real Canadian Superstore, 3185 Grandview Highway, Vancouver: The last day the three team members worked was November 19, November 20 and November 23, respectively.
- Real Canadian Superstore, 1301 Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam: The last day the team member worked was November 24th.
- Real Canadian Superstore, 7550 King George Blvd., Surrey: The last day the team member worked was November 28th.
Additionally, T&T Supermarket, which is also owned by Loblaw, has updated their COVID-19 case lists to include a new positive in-store test instance. The shop concerned is the following:
- Coquitlam Store – # 2740-2929 Barnet Hwy: Associated Positive Result; the last business day was November 21 and has been in quarantine for the past 10 days.
As a result of a series of test positive cases among employees at the Coquitlam store, T&T closed its office on Barnet Hwy from December 2nd to 4th.
“The situation of the virus a [the] The Coquitlam store is disturbing, “said Tina Lee, CEO of T&T,” so we are determined to eliminate it. “
Lee continued: “It is time for our Coquitlam store staff to take a break and for the company to take even stronger measures.”
T&T will carry out a deep cleaning and sanitization before reopening on Saturday. December 5th. Closing will allow staff to be tested if necessary and the store cleaned.
None of the above stores are considered places of coronavirus exposure to the public by Vancouver Coastal Health or Fraser Health.
