The founder of Litecoin, Charlie Lee, appears in a forthcoming German television documentary on Bitcoin, blockchain and the future of the Internet.
The film, financed by the crowd, "Cryptopia", presents important blockchain developers and insiders. In a preview of the interview, Lee illustrates the advantages of Litecoin compared to Bitcoin and defines the word "shitcoin".
"I think it's just a derogatory term that people use on coins they do not love, people have different definitions for this, I think of Bitcoin's massacists, people who care only about Bitcoin, everything else is a shitcoin.
From my point of view, I think a coin that is a kind of scam is a shitcoin. So people create coins just to get rich, they print a lot of chips out of thin air, trying to raise the price, make a lot of money from it. And this does not really give much value to the world. "
"Cryptopia" is directed by the German director Torsten Hoffmann who made his directorial debut in 2015 with the release of "Bitcoin: The end of money as we know it", which generated about 500,000 downloads via BitTorrent, Vimeo on Demand, Amazon Prime and iTunes.
Kickstarter's donations for the last "Cryptopia" funding round ended today with overwhelming success, as the project raised around 200% of its $ 16,156 target.
Screen Australia, the country's film commission, covers 40% of the film's budget. The release is scheduled for 2019.
