A small demonstration in Vancouver on Monday evening blocked the intersection of Hastings Street and Clark Drive.
Vehicle traffic could not pass, according to the Vancouver Police Department, which expected the intersection to remain closed overnight.

According to posts by some protesters on social media, the blockade began on Monday afternoon as a march towards Commercial Drive. Protesters said on social media that they are supporting indigenous land defenders.
They kept a small fire lit and posted calls on Instagram asking for more people to join them and for donations of firewood.
