The number of deaths and infections with the emerging coronavirus in Arab countries has steadily increased in recent times.

What is causing the concern of experts is that some Arab countries have a very high death rate among the number of injured, some of which have reached around 8%, although the global average is around 3%.

It should be noted that the data received from some Arab countries are questioned due to the lack of tests conducted for the population, either because the authorities require the appearance of symptoms on the patient or the difficulty of accessing patients to hospitals and laboratories where they are conducted tests, or poor medical skills in these countries.

1- Egypt

Egypt has recorded the highest number of deaths due to the new Corona virus among Arab countries so far, which is 544 deaths out of 10,093 infections, which is one of the highest death rates in the world.

2,326 people have been healed in Egypt, in a country with a population of over 100 million people.

2- Algeria

The second country for the number of deaths was Algeria, which counted 515 deaths out of 6,067 wounded recorded by the country, 2998 of which recovered, in a country with a population of about 42 million.

3- Saudi Arabia

In third place is Saudi Arabia, where 264 people have died, and is the most Arab country that has registered new infections with the Corona virus, reaching 42,925 infections, of which 15,257 recovered, in a country with a population of about 3.7 million of people.

4- Emirates

And the fourth Arab country for the number of deaths is the Emirates, where 203 dead out of 1966 were injured, of which 6012 were healed, in a country with a population of 9.6 million people.

5- Morocco

And in fifth place, Morocco, which counted 188 deaths out of 6,466 cases of the virus, 3099 of which recovered, arrived in a country with a population of 36 million.

6- Iraq

Iraq came in sixth in terms of death toll, reaching 112 dead out of 2,913 injured, including 1903 healed, in the country’s 38.4 million people.

7- Sudan

Although Sudan is relatively recent in recording Coronavirus cases, it has recorded 80 deaths from complications of Covid-19 disease and infections have reached 1661, of which only 173 have recovered, in a country with a population of 41.8 million of people.

8- Kuwait

Kuwait counted 75 deaths out of 10,277 HIV infections, of which 3101 recovered in a country with a population of 4.1 million.

9- Tunisia

Tunisia ranked ninth in the Arab world in terms of death toll, which reached 45 deaths out of 1032 HIV infections and 740 people recovered. Tunisia has a population of 11.5 million.

10- Amman

Oman has recorded 17 coronavirus deaths out of 4,019 cases and 1,289 people have recovered in the country, which has a population of around 4.8 million.

11- Qatar

Despite the high number of infections in the country, amounting to 26539 new cases of Coronavirus in a country with a population of 2.7 million, Qatar has only recorded 14 deaths, one of the lowest death rates in the world in terms of number. of infections from which 3,143 people have recovered.

Yemen started recording Corona cases overdue, as it registered the first case of Covid-19 disease in Hadramawt governorate in the south of the country on April 10.

So far, the Saudi-backed government based in the southern part of the country and the Iranian-aligned Houthi movement, based in the northern part, have announced the discovery of only 67 cases and 11 deaths. The Houthis have announced only two cases and one death out of the total, all in the capital, Sanaa.

Libya, which has witnessed an armed conflict since April last year, between the forces of the Government of National Accord in the west and the forces of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, was one of the last countries in the world to have started to register infections from Coronavirus.

The Libyan authorities in Tripoli recorded the first infection in the country on April 2, which has so far reached 64 injured and three dead, and 28 people have been healed, according to what was recorded in the country of 6.6 million people.

16- Syria

As happened in Libya and Yemen, Syria was also one of the last countries to announce the Coronavirus infection, as the first case was on March 22 for a person from outside the country and has so far reached 47 cases and three dead, while 29 people were reported healed, in a country of 16.9 million people.

17- Mauritania

Mauritania announced the first coronavirus infection on March 13, bringing the number so far recorded with the authorities to nine, including two dead and six recovered, in a country with a population of 4.4 million people.
