In order to provide information on auto parts selection, the Korea Consumer Agency released performance and quality evaluation results of OEM parts and spare parts for five types of imported cars, including the front bumper.
The replacement parts refer to parts that have been certified by the certification body designated by the Ministry of Territory, Infrastructure and Transport for the assessment of performance and quality.
As a result of the assessment of physical properties such as strength to withstand loads such as external impacts, consumer sources found that all replacement parts met the relevant criteria and were at the same level as OEM parts.
The results of checking OEM parts shape match and thickness difference met all relevant criteria and the price was found to be much cheaper from 59% to 65% of OEM parts.
Consumer Agency said that as consumer awareness of spare parts is low, it is necessary to improve consumer awareness and expand the certification of spare parts.
