TORONTO – YouTube was briefly inaccessible Wednesday night due to an unspecified problem that prevented users from all over the world from playing videos.
Problems were reported on Wednesday around 7pm as users complained about slow download times and subsequently received playback errors. According to Down Detector, which tracks service outages, users have been affected all over the world.
Two hours after recognizing the problem, YouTube confirmed that the video platform was up and running again.
“The problem has been fixed on all YouTube devices and services, thanks for your patience with us” the company tweeted.
YouTube did not clarify what caused the problem.
