The Blockchain buzz has touched almost every existing industry and as a result, conferences and events focused on Blockchain are happening almost every day, all over the world. While I was participating in one of these summer events, the London Blockchain Summit, I was contacted by countless Blockchain-based companies for interviews, but one gentleman in particular stood out from the rest.
Jacob Piotrowski, CEO and founder of "GiveBytes.com," Blockchain enthusiast and public speaker, introduced himself politely and quickly explained his project, inviting us to help spread the word if there was interest.
At first glance I liked the concept behind Give Bytes, an innovative crowdfunding platform with the goal of facilitating fundraising around the world. Combine this with the kind behavior of Piotrowski and here we are with more details on Give Bytes, an initiative born in the house destined to be launched in the coming days.
"Crowdfunding is a great thing – everyone knows it – it's a practice of raising small amounts of money from a large number of people to finance a certain goal and this is really strong," said Piotrowski.
"The only problem with crowdfunding is that the prerequisite is that you have to reach your wallets and donate some of your income, and of course not everyone is able to do it," he added.
According to Piotrowski, the current wealth distribution represents only 1% of the world's population earning more than £ 25k in the year, leaving 99% in a position where they may not be in able to share their income. At the same time, over 55% of the world's population now has access to the Internet, opening up all sorts of opportunities to raise funds and beyond.
"There's a lot of things we can disturb here and everyone who is online can" give a byte of love "as they say," said Piotrowski.
"Thanks to Give Bytes and the browser mining process, we can generate marginal amounts simply by visiting a website, so depending on your computer's parameters, but on average, our workday, from six to eight hours working can produce anything between 10, maybe 15 pence. It's not much, but if you imagine 10,000 that connect every day, it can make a difference, "he said.
In an effort to achieve the maximum power of the Give Bytes project, Piotrowski's goal is to enroll as many members as possible by involving companies and organizations as partners, using Blockchain technology as a backbone.
"C & # 39; is a number of stakeholders I would like to be involved, not only using Bosch network technology, you can generate marginal amounts of money, but also by using smart contracts we can actually do something really nice with CSR, corporate social responsibility ", he said.
Take for example the huge patches of plastic in the oceans, Piotrowski cites how to tackle this important problem as an example of how the Give Bytes project can help make the world a better place.
"Let's say it's a serious problem Sue and a million people are worried about this cause and take part in this mass-mining campaign, then think of a corporate sponsor, say a big producer of carbonated drinks … say that they want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem, as they decide to match the power of calculation donated by each supporter, "he said
" So in this case you have a triple victory, because a fundraiser gets more Funds, donations from supporters are also rewarded and for the sponsor they are getting advertisements to do the right thing, "he added.
"And we will use smart contracts, so we ensure that this matching mechanism is present, so in reality we will be completely transparent and our true corporate responsibility because the sponsor is engaging at a cost only when there is another contribution so we think it's a big sell-in and people seem to love this idea, "explained Piotrowski.
In an effort to encourage maximum participation, while contributing to good causes, the members of Give Bytes will be welcomed and rewarded with a lucid and gamified experience. [19659003] "The whole process of" giving bytes "will be very visually appealing … when you visit a campaign page and you have a play button where you say" start mining & # 39 ;, click on it and see in front of you the hash power has been given to this particular cause, so it's all very simple, but at the same time very visually appealing, "said Piotrowski.
"We can see how much you are giving and we can count how much power you are making a donation and we can actually gain a credible experience, we can reach certain levels, we can have results that are an ecological badge, a cultural badge, every kind of recognition and you could also generate a personal link that you could share with your friends ", he shared.
"And for any kind of fundraising in progress, you could actually compete with your friends and see who is giving more, you can see your rankings in. There are many things that people really love about the project and I see how it could be really exciting times in the coming months, "he added.
