2020 releases in the Arab world: the decline of music

Before the Corona virus reached an advanced stage, and the ban was imposed on various countries around the world, the artist, Amr Diab, had released his entire new album, in a move that for Diab was considered an adventure in light of the climate that surrounded everyone, on a health, economic and even political level. Perhaps Diab has tried to take the risk to return to his favorite place: the light, which he believes is still very present, is working on a new production, and can use it for the benefit of another generation of young people. In return, young people supported the “plateau” through live broadcast services and electronic platforms.
In album form, Amr Diab once again triumphed for its uniqueness, especially among his Egyptian colleagues. In content, it moved the mood a bit and deviated from the traditional adopted on previous albums, and gave a good word space in most of the songs and ideas included on the album. The group includes songs such as: “My Uncle El Tabib” and “Sahran” and others from a series that contained 12 songs, six of which were released by Diab in the summer of last year 2019, about the production company he owns, which is “Nai”.

It is evident that musical productions in the first half of 2020 are numbered compared to previous years. The summer phase did not reveal any new problems, and this is understandable, in light of the fear of production companies, and of the reduction of working hours in their institutions, and therefore of wages.
There are only a handful of singles who have made only slight earnings.
Amr Diab may have won another round as part of his well-known annual plan. While a group of his competitors were absent from the circle. And he was left alone, facing the popular songs that have been very popular since the beginning of this year. “Bint Al Jeeran”, the song performed by Hassan Shakoush, has passed the stage of success and in a few weeks was able to compete with most of the songs released at the beginning of the year.

Singer Sherine was absent from any lyric art publication, as was Hani Shaker, who was not lucky enough to release new songs. Tamer Hosni was not absent, last February, to coincide with the release of the Diab album, he released a single entitled “Fi Ba3ak”, but did not receive the expected response.
In Lebanon, singer Nancy Ajram chose the occasion of “Valentine’s Day” on February 14 to release the song “My Heart Oh My Heart”, which was filmed in Turkey. However, the Lebanese situation in general could not interact with the issue, for many reasons, including the economic situation in Lebanon and what warns that the next is more difficult.
According to the figures of “YouTube”, the song reached 18 million listeners in five months, and this is good for Ajram, which has postponed the release.

Her colleague Elissa was absent from releasing her album and chose to release the songs individually, until Corona calmed down and the world recovered.
Today some people are trying to wait for the summer, in light of the information that most of the artists recorded new songs, as they wait for Faraj time to announce their new songs, in order to ensure the interaction movement with public, in the absence of concerts and art festivals until early next year. Hence, it is clear that Arab musical decline is due to many reasons, which are actually the lack of interest of Arab artists or singers in general for quality and music and the dependence on fame and archives that led them to fame.
