United Airlines has moved crews to several American cities, from downtown hotels to hotels near airports. “As we approach the 2020 presidential election, there is the possibility of further protests,” the airline wrote to its crews, according to the USA Today newspaper. “We take precautionary measures to ensure your safety and adequate rest.”
Cities affected include Seattle, Washington, Denver, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Portland, Oregon. United began making changes on Monday. The airline also announced that it will temporarily relocate its operations center to an alternative location outside of downtown Chicago. He had taken similar measures during the summer during the protests following George Floyd’s death.
