According to the report by Müzeyyen Yüce of Duvar, the law on the electricity market, which came to Parliament with the signatures of the deputies of the AK party, was approved by the TBMM industry committee. According to the proposed law, which includes changes in the mining, natural gas and electricity sectors, the collection of the loss tax reflected in electricity bills will take another 5 years. The President will be authorized to extend this period for another 5 years.

Stating that around 300 billion kilowatt hours of electricity were produced in 2019, Özdağ said 250 billion kilowatt hours were billed. Özdağ said: “We lose 15-16% of the electricity we produce in the distribution networks. Two and a half percent of them appear as transmission losses. In other words, we lose about 20 percent of the electricity we produce. The rest is due to illegal illegal use in distribution networks. On a regional basis, there are distribution losses of up to 50% in the Dicle Van Lake, Çorum, Kayseri, Yeşilırmak and Toroslar regions.
