Blockchain technology promises to usher in a new era of supply-chain transparency. The only question: When?
Indications are the golden age of blockchain is still a ways off. In a recent survey by Capgemini of 731 companies, just 10 percent had a pilot in place, and only 3 percent were deploying the technology at scale. 87 percent of respondents said they were at least in the early stages of blockchain experimentation. So what's the true progress of blockchain? Will it ever deliver the benefits that proponents promise? On this episode, we speak with Joe Vernon, a supply chain analytics practice leader with Capgemini. He explains the findings of the survey, including the numerous obstacles. Will you ever break free of its association with bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies? When will hype give way to reality? Hosted by Bob Bowman, managing editor of SupplyChainBrain.
