Metalyfe, based in Toronto, today announced that it has received a strategic investment from Bicameral Ventures.
Led by Kesem Frank, also co-founder of Aion and Nuco, Bicameral is aimed at companies that are developing on the platform of Aion. Although the terms of the investment have not been disclosed, Metalyfe will be reimbursed with Aion tokens (currently trading around USD 0.135878 at the time of publication).
Initially launched in August 2017 before the public opening in April of this year, Aion's reputation for fame lies in its network and interoperable blockchain structure, allowing communication between different blockchains. Describing the current status of the blockchain as that of computers before email, Aion works to connect independent but compatible blockchains to allow rapid registration and transfer of global data and values.

"In the future, blockchains will federate data and value in an Internet-like hub and spoke model," wrote Aion in his executive summary. "The future of the adoption of mainstream blockchain will be achieved by the development of a networked blockchain to integrate these separate beams".
All this makes a blockchain browser an ideal vessel to navigate on these hubs and spokes.
Currently in beta on Mac, Windows and Linux, Metalyfe's value proposition arrives on two fronts: privacy and commerce.
"A complete browsing experience requires the seamless integration of many different features, technologies and capabilities and therefore building this on a single blockchain network would introduce significant limitations," Frank told BetaKit. "Exploiting Aion's ability to incorporate multiple purpose-built blockchains and decentralized technologies enables the scale and flexibility needed to bring this vision to life."
Currently in beta on Mac, Windows and Linux, Metalyfe's value proposition arrives on two fronts: privacy and commerce. The user's login and browsing data is encrypted on the blockchain and presumably kept safe in the eyes of websites all over the world, and they say, Google (Metalyfe has signed a partnership agreement with the VPN provider, Sentinel and the decentralized search engine, Presearch, in the last two months). This may not mean much if you're a regular Gmail or Google Apps user, but Metalyfe is more suited to the type of person with a ProtonMail account.
It means a lot in a worldwide network of sites that are currently studying how to manage extended privacy legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the Canadian Personal Data Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). The current solution for most of the Web right now forces users to opt for a GDPR-compliant information sharing agreement before browsing the content. Tim Berners-Lee is working on a contract for the Web but Metalyfe hopes to be the one that will make it operational: giving users the ability to decide what information they provide to each site and profit from the transaction through the Lyric Coin cryptocurrency of the browser.
Operationalizing that vision is about to take A lot work, and the cryptocurrency space is in a & # 39; winter & # 39; or & Spiral of Death, depending on who you ask. But speaking with Metalyfe, the company did not seem worried, observing that a bubble breaks out to drive off speculators, leaving only those who build real applications to survive. It is a feeling that Metlyfe's investors are in agreement.
"Metalyfe gives life to the ethics of what Web 3.0 represents, which is a reorientation away from an economy and a culture dominated by centralized actors who maintain their dominance through a deep data access ditch towards a Self-sufficient model in which a user's online identity, actions and profile enable them to build true digital trust and goodwill in a way that is impossible in the current changing digital world, "said Bicameral CIO Alex McDougall.
Metalyfe is hoping to get out of the beta in the next 3-6 months, with support for Android, as well as a multi-currency crypt portfolio to exploit its relationship with Aion and provide more utility.
