On November 22nd, while the rest of the crypto verse was concerned about the declining value of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and other numerous cryptocurrencies, the TradingView team released the Android version of the platform. The commercial communities of traditional markets and cryptocurrencies had demanded the development of the Andriod version for some time because an iOS version already existed.
Requests for an Android version date back 5 years ago
In one of the online trading forums, we find requests for a five year old Android version. Below you can find a screenshot of the requests. The highlighted request shows that there was an urgency on the matter.
TradingView at your fingertips on Android
Calls for an Android version have not gone unnoticed. The TradingView team launched the Android version of the platform with an announcement that stated the following.
We received numerous requests to create a native application for the Android operating system and simply could not leave them unanswered. We thank you for your patience and it is a real pleasure to introduce you to the official TradingView app for Android devices. Your favorite charts and real-time data are now readily available at your fingertips.
Basic functionality First of all
The announcement went on to explain to users of the charting application that the Android version will have essential features first. Additional and more advanced features will be released with the next version of the app. Future additions include: push notifications, ideas, chats and more.
Current features include:
- A checklist
- State cards of art
- Account information synchronized
Reviews on Google Play
The business community wasted no time expressing their gratitude for the Android version, as can be seen through reviews on Google Play. The app was downloaded over 50,000 times with 675 users who assigned the app a 4.6-star collective rating.
One of these users who downloaded the app had this to say.
I'll wait for you for so long! If you did not arrive in time I could be transferred to iOS! Thanks trading view!
Another user reported how the app was similar to the web version:
