Users of Coinbase Wallet will now be able to send and receive Ethereum Classic.

In a blog post, the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange indicated that the support was extended not only to Ethereum Classic but also to over 100,000 ERC20 tokens in the Ethereum blockchain. Portfolio users will, however, have to wait a couple of days before they can make transactions.

"The Wallet app should be updated in the coming days, after which you can view, send and receive ETCs on your wallet," wrote Coinbase in an online ad.

This happens three months after the cryptocurrency exchange listed the altcoin on its trading platform.

At the time, Coinbase said that the listing was fulfilling the promise of adding more assets to its trading platform for its global customer base. From the Ethereum Classic list, other cryptocurrencies that have been added to the Coinbase trading platform include Basic Attention Token (BAT), which was listed at the beginning of this month.

BAT and 0x

As reported by CCN after the listing, Coinbase allowed trading in BAT in most jurisdictions except New York.

"Once sufficient liquidity has been established, trading on the BAT / USDC order portfolio will commence. […] BAT trading will be accessible to users in most jurisdictions, but will initially not be available to New York state residents, "announced Coinbase at the time.

At the time when the cryptocurrency exchange in the United States also revealed that BAT would not be available on mobile apps and on Coinbase.com.

Another cryptocurrency that Coinbase has recently listed is 0x and, unlike the BAT case, the currency was immediately available for the iOS and Android apps and on Coinbase.com. But just as in the case of BAT, the state of New York has been excluded from the list of permitted jurisdictions. In the United Kingdom, where Coinbase activated sterling deposits and withdrawals in August, residents also lost immediate availability of 0x.

"Starting today, Coinbase supports ZRX on Coinbase.com and Coinbase's Android and iOS apps, so Coinbase customers can now buy, sell, send, receive or store ZRX …". The vice president of Coinbase and the general manager of Coinbase Consumer, Dan Romero, announced that CCN has reported. "ZRX will be available to customers in most jurisdictions, but will initially not be available to residents in the United Kingdom or New York."

Highly regulated

Being based in the United States, Coinbase is highly regulated and the listing of a token on the exchange is taken as an indication that the US Securities and Exchange Commission does not consider such security an asset. Other cryptographic resources that could soon be listed on Coinbase, in speculative terms, include Cardano, Stellar and Zcash.
