The Banking and Banking Institute of Bahrain (BIBF) is launching what it claims to be the first "Blockchain Academy" in the country, according to an announcement published on November 26th.
The BIBF was established in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 1981 with the approval of the specific Council for vocational training. The institute is an unregistered non-profit semi-government entity providing training in the financial sector.
The establishment of the Blockchain Academy allegedly marks the first offer of the country's blockchain professional qualification programs. The training program was designed to prepare participants to earn the international qualification of Certified Blockchain Professional C | BP and was developed by the MyLearning Key training company of BIBF and Dubai.
C | certification BP presumably includes three areas of expertise in blockchain technology; development, implementation and strategy. The BIBF director, Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, said that the organization introduced the Blockchain Professional Qualification to "support the growing demand for skilled blockchain professionals".
Ahmed Naeemi, IT, Operations and Project Management Manager, said the new initiative aims to support companies and organizations when they adopt new technologies like blockchain.
In September, the government of Bahrain emphasized the importance of blockchain technology for the country's economy, also urging the surveillance of information security. Abdulhussain Mirza, Bahrain's minister for electricity and water, said that "technologies like blockchain lead us to take a huge step forward in finding a safe way to facilitate transactions".
As Cointelegraph recently reported, the multi-sector blockchain company Bitfury has collaborated with the Plekhanov University of Russian Economics to create an accelerator for blockchain projects. In addition to contributing to the development of blockchain projects, the university will provide educational programs dedicated to "training specialists who are able to create innovative projects using digital technologies in a short time".
The University of Tokyo will also launch a blockchain course following a donation of nearly $ 800,000 from several companies, including the Japanese banking giant Sumitomo Mitsui (SMBC) and the Ethereum Foundation. The course focuses on the development of decentralized solutions, their social implementation and human resources.
