The United States recorded 4 million coronavirus cases in November as the country enters a terrifying new phase of the pandemic, with public health experts warning of another big wave of cases and hospitalizations after the weekend trip. Thanksgiving.
Data from Johns Hopkins University shows that 4.02 million cases were recorded from November 1 to 28, bringing the country’s total COVID-19 cases to more than 13 million, the highest of any nation. The case count in November is more than double the 1.87 million cases recorded in October.

South Dakota also recently joined the ranks of states that have at least one COVID-related death for every 1,000 residents. Its governor, Kristi Noem, yes refused to implement a statewide masking mandate, saying it should be a “personal decision”.
Noem also said in a declaration the week before Thanksgiving that people should “use common sense when we plan our celebrations”, but that the state government “will not stop or discourage you from thanking God and spending time together this Thanksgiving.”
On Saturday, the United States surpassed its current 91,000 COVID-19 hospitalizations, the highest since the pandemic began. Hospitals in more than two dozen states have warned they are running out of health care workers and hospital beds as the number of COVID-19 patients increases.
The death toll also continues to rise to levels never seen since the first months of the pandemic. To date, more than 265,000 people in the United States have died from the coronavirus.
The prospect of a series of COVID vaccines in the final stages of the trial signals that an end to the pandemic may be in the offing. However, Dr Anthony Fauci, the foremost infectious disease expert in the United States, urged Americans to “double down” social distances, wear masks and avoid meetings before the vaccine is widely distributed – and possibly even after.
