Although rumors that appeared online earlier this week suggested that ZTE is preparing to launch a new phone today, November 19th, in reality all we get is just a teaser for a future terminal. It will be called ZTE Axon 20 5G Extreme Edition and looking more closely at the image below, I notice a back panel now in leather (probably ecological) and with a huge AXON embossed logo.
The rear photo setup looks identical to that found on the standard Axon 20 5G, but maybe we’ll have some sensor differences. For now, ZTE has not revealed other details about this model Extreme, but the novelty is probably more than just a look update for the rear panel.
The vanilla Axon 20 5G model was announced on the first day of September and is the world’s first commercially available phone that integrates the selfie camera under the display for a complete edge-to-edge design. It has a 6.92-inch FHD + OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, 32 mpx front camera and the following quad configuration on the back: 64 mpx + 8 mpx (ultra-wide) + 2 mpx (macro) + 2 mpx (bokeh).
It also carries a 4220mAh battery with 30W charging via USB-C port, 8GB of RAM + 128GB of storage, in-display fingerprint scanner and Snapdragon 765G processor. This Extreme model could opt for a different processor and a configuration with more RAM or storage.
