Zoom has implemented end-to-end encryption in video calls

Zoom video calling service has launched its lcalls with end-to-end encryption, which is already available for paid and free users and in both mobile and computer versions.

Zoom announced it was working on end-to-end encryption last Juneand the company has since confirmed that the feature would reach both paid and free users.

Now, the platform announced in a statement that the new feature is available from Monday for video calls for up to 200 participants.

Zoom’s end-to-end encrypted video calls use the AES-GCM 256-bit encryption system, the same as other meetings on the platform, and allows no one but the participants can know the keys of the call, not even the Zoom servers.

That is, the encryption algorithm has not been altered but the place where the key is stored, ranging from running on Zoom servers, to users’ devices.

In normal video calls, Zoom generates encryption keys for each meeting, but with the new system, the call host generates this data and distributes them to the rest of the participants so that the company’s servers never get the information they need to access the content.

Administrators can enable end-to-end encrypted video calls on their accountsgiving enable them by default for groups or select them individually for each meeting.

The feature is now available and enabled for users accessing version 5.4.0 for Mac and PC, the Android app, Zoom Rooms and It is pending approval from the App Store in the case of the iOS app.

The function is still active Test phase during the next 30 days, during which Zoom asked users to provide their own opinion.

Zoom now allows you to stream live on YouTube in its Android version

The latest version of the Zoom video conferencing application for Android mobile phones allows users to broadcast their live video calls via Youtube.

In order to use this new feature, users must have a YouTube account or channel that is suitable and registered for the live broadcast of the video platform. Otherwise, they will not be able to use the function.

Additionally, for this to work in the Android app, users will also need to enable YouTube live streaming in their Zoom account. as mentioned in the portal 9to5Google.

To do this, users need to access their Zoom account settings, select “At the meeting (advanced) “ and activate the option “Allow live meetings”.

The new version of the app, 5.4.0.434, also allows users to have the flashlight turned on while using Zoom, as well as the end-to-end encrypted calling feature, which is now available for both users to payment and free ones and both in the mobile and computer version.
