Zinedine Zidane is reportedly on the verge of sacking at Real Madrid – with the Los Blancos bosses looking at a move for former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Real were beaten 2-0 by Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday night, leaving them with the real threat of playing in the Europa League after Christmas.
It followed Alaves’ defeat in La Liga over the weekend, a result that left them fourth in the Spanish top flight, seven points behind Real Sociedad.
And, according to Marca, Zidane now has only four games to save his job with Pochettino waiting in the wings.
It represents a period of crisis for Zidane and Real, with a Madrid derby against Atletico and El Clasico against Barcelona.
They will also face Sevilla and Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League as they try to save their season.
