Last Thursday, November 19, 2020, the Xiaomi started distributing the version 12.2.1.0 to do MIUI 12. The main focus of this update is to improve the sensor performance and photographic application of its latest top of the range, such as Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro or even the Redmi K30 Pro.
With the update, the Mi Camera application gets new various modes, such as the “Shuttle Crowd” mode for the crowd or even the “Neon Night Curtain” mode to add lighting effects to your photos. However, after releasing it, the company found that it is buggy and causing a lot of stability issues in the devices mentioned above. The situation is so critical that the company recommends not installing the update, at least for now.
The problems caused seem to be many, ranging from the inability to connect to the Internet from a second SIM card, the numbness of the touch screen while charging the battery, to the drastic drop in the number of fps during games, to the increased power consumption, delay while taking screenshots, overheating and more. For now, as you may have noticed, it is better not to download the MIUI 12 12.2.0.1 update, and wait for the implementation of a patch that could be more “healthy”.
Xiaomi asks you not to install MIUI 12.2.1.0
As a reminder, Xiaomi presented the international version of MIUI 12 last November 4th. This interface can be based on Android 10 or Android 11, depending on the equipment, and improves many aspects of the user interface. In this first phase, the company is gradually launching the stable version of MIUI 12 on about fifty Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones.
Among the main novelties of this operating system, we point out the integration of new transitions between screens and applications through 3D animations managed by two graphics engines. The famous cosmic wallpapers also make their debut on MIUI 12. To this we should add a more privacy-friendly permission system and sharing, a reworked multitasking mode, the addition of a new energy saving mode, or even the establishment of a module drawer.
Last but not least, MIUI 12 already has a system-wide dark mode.
