Overview
The 2020 edition of World report on malaria takes a historical look at the milestones that have helped shape the global response to the disease over the past 2 decades, a period of unprecedented success in malaria control. The report presents a detailed analysis of progress towards the 2020 milestones of the WHO Global Malaria Strategy and a special section on malaria and the COVID-19 pandemic.
As in previous years, the report provides an updated assessment of the global, regional and national malaria burden. It tracks investments in malaria programs and research, as well as progress in all areas of intervention. This latest report is based on data from 87 countries and territories with ongoing malaria transmission.
